HD - Hard Disk
A device to store digital information in a semi permanent form, (no power is needed to retain information).
The name Hard Disk was used to compare it to Floppy Disk that were used as removable storage device.
Laptop
A laptop computer or simply laptop (also notebook computer) is a small mobile computer that run on a battery and/or AC/DC power.
Notebook often refers to a smaller Laptop, (who in turn used to be seen as smaller 'Portable computer').

RAM
A hardware device in which information can be accessed in any order by the system.
A RAM is not a permanent storage tool as it requires power to keep information.
ROM
Read Only Memory, hardware that contains the most basic information needed by the system to run properly. As the name indicates the information stored cannot be changed. It offers extremely fast access to the data stored.
